Job summary

FCC Environmental Services is seeking a Utility Operator for the South Broward County Waste to Energy facility. You will monitor and operate APC and ash handling systems, conduct rounds, inspections, and minor maintenance to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient plant performance.

The role requires at least a High School Diploma and 2 years in power plant operations, with ability to work rotating shifts and handle physically demanding tasks in a challenging environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2 years working in a power plant operation or related experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of the operation of a steam generating power plant.
• Mechanical abilities necessary to perform routine maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate WTE boiler combustion and APC systems.
• Perform inspections, rounds, and adjustments for safe and compliant operations.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on ash handling and APC components.
• Communicate status and issues to control room and shift supervisor.
