Job summary

CrossFire Group is seeking a Waste Technician for a landfill in Decatur, IL. This onsite role starts at $20.00 per hour on a 6-month contract-to-hire basis. The position requires a background check and drug screen before starting, with standard safety training provided.

You will move various waste streams, operate forklifts and related tools, maintain logs, and ensure compliance with site procedures. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, and you will work closely with senior staff

Qualifications

• Must have strong time management and reliability.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 30 lbs.
• Experience operating a forklift and other trade tools.
• Safety training and adherence to site protocols required.

Responsibilities

• Move various waste streams including non-hazardous and limited hazardous waste.
• Maintain accurate records and logs for waste and recyclables.
• Operate forklifts and other trade tools as needed.
• Ensure compliance with site protocols and procedures.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete daily tasks.
