Job summary

City and County of Denver is seeking a Waste Services Operator I to join the Solid Waste Management team. You will operate collection trucks, load and unload waste, and use route maps to plan efficient pickups across the city.

The role includes regular pre/post trip inspections and potential overtime. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of general labor experience including six months driving, and a valid CDL-B with endorsements.

• Two years general labor experience including six months driving light to medium equipment.
• CDL-B with endorsements required; licenses must be kept current.

Responsibilities

• Operate solid waste collection trucks (rear loader/roll off) on designated routes.
• Load/unload waste and recycling materials at facilities; may handle bulky items.
• Read maps to plan routes and document service using route tech.
• Perform pre/post trip inspections and assist in vehicle maintenance.
• Report uncollected waste and maintain daily operation reports.
