Job summary

Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County is seeking a Finance Administrator to supervise financial, procurement, and administrative functions for the Waste Services Department. The role covers budgeting, capital projects, environmental compliance, and related reporting.

The incumbent will supervise staff, oversee payroll, and ensure adherence to Metro policies and regulations while supporting fleet, transfer stations, and recycling programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field and Four (4) years of experience in financial operations, procurement, and/or administrative functions.

Responsibilities

• Supervises clerical and professional employees performing financial, procurement, and administrative functions for waste-services operations.
• Oversees payroll process.
• Assists with planning, organizing, and overseeing the department’s financial programs, including operating budgets, capital projects, and environmental compliance expenses.
• Participates in monitoring procurements such as heavy equipment purchases and environmental contracts.
• Prepares budget justifications and assists with departmental budget presentations.
