Job summary

The City and County of Denver is seeking a Solid Waste Customer Service Agent to serve as the first point of contact for residents, answering inquiries about trash, recycling, composting and large-item pickup. Work on-site with DOTI, handling about 60 calls daily and delivering accurate information with courtesy.

Eligibility requires a high school diploma, 3 years of high-volume customer service, and strong communication.

Qualifications

  • Three years of customer service experience in a high-volume call-related environment.
  • Clerical and/or data entry experience.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced call center environment.
  • Strong communication and active listening skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and practices.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English desirable.
  • Previous experience with Salesforce, Rubicon and/or Zuora a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manages approximately 60 inbound phone calls daily. Ability to use 2-way radio and respond to emails.
  • Explains and clarifies rules, processes, and procedures, answers questions, research and resolves a variety of problems accurately within a defined scope.
  • Operates computer equipment to input accurate, valid, and complete data and to examine and evaluate a variety of information to determine correctness, completeness, and adherence with requirements. Verifies and corrects information as needed.
  • Compile, organize, interpret, and communicate data and results concisely.
  • Typing and/or data entry with minimal errors.
  • Organizing and managing time effectively.
  • Handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
