Job summary

Pueblo of Sandia is seeking a dependable Waste Transfer Station attendant to collect solid waste and recycling from Pueblo residences and government offices. The role includes guiding vehicles, assisting with unloading, and maintaining transfer station cleanliness.

Successful candidates will have a High School diploma or GED, and at least 6 months of related maintenance or custodial experience, plus required safety training. The job requires physical activity and adherence to environmental rules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
• Six (6) months experience in a general maintenance or custodial position or in a position involving cleaning or repair of facilities and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Collect solid waste from assigned bins and Pueblo Government departments.
• Collect recycling from Pueblo Government departments.
• Unlock gates and control access to transfer station.
• Assist customers with unloading and guide vehicles into the transfer station.
• Sort recyclables into designated containers.
• Coordinate dumpster exchanges with the trash hauler.
