Job summary

City of Scranton is seeking an administrative and supervisory professional to oversee the solid waste and recycling collections for residential and city properties. The role requires scheduling, directing drivers and collectors, and ensuring safety and efficiency in curbside services.

Reporting to the Department Manager and working under the director of Public Works, you will coordinate route optimization, supervise frontline staff, and interact with residents and city/state officials.

Qualifications

• Four years of operational experience, including at least one year in a supervisory/administrative capacity.
• Ability to plan, schedule, organize, implement and evaluate waste collection operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and implementation of city-wide maintenance, organizational and operational plans.
• Supervise Refuse & Recycling staff; assist with interviews, personnel actions, and training; monitor performance and schedule crews.
