Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy machinery at a recycling facility, landfill or transfer station. The role involves pre- and post-operation inspections, handling equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and loader, and ensuring safe, efficient waste transfer or soil handling.

Responsibilities include monitoring equipment condition to minimize downtime, performing minor servicing, completing reports, and maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Excellent customer service and safety mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment.
• Safely operate heavy equipment (forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader, etc.).
• Monitor waste and equipment condition to minimize downtime.
• Complete equipment reports and report repairs as needed.
• Adhere to safety policies and keep the shop clean after each shift.
