Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy machinery at our recycling facility, landfill, or transfer station. You will transfer, spread, cover, load and compact waste or soil while following safety standards and company policies.

The role requires prior heavy equipment experience and adherence to OSHA-regulated site requirements, with a focus on safe, efficient operations and customer service. We offer comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Two years of related experience operating heavy equipment.
• One year of experience at OSHA-regulated sites.
• Strong customer service skills and professional conduct.
• Ability to adhere to schedules and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections.
• Safely operate equipment (forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader, and other equipment).
• Monitor waste for unacceptable material.
• Maintain equipment readiness and clean as needed.
• Perform minor servicing and document it; report repairs as needed.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required reports.
• Follow all safety policies and keep the shop clean.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
