Job summary

Republic Services in Texas is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate forklifts, excavators, bulldozers and other machinery at recycling centers, landfills or transfer stations to move waste or soil efficiently and safely. You will perform pre- and post-operation inspections, monitor equipment and waste quality, complete reports, and uphold all safety policies.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Excellent customer service and professional conduct.
• Strong time management and reliability.
• Adherence to safety standards and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment according to policy and ensure safety features are functional.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader and similar machinery.
• Continuously monitor waste for unacceptable waste and ensure operational readiness of equipment.
• Perform minor servicing and document Equipment Condition Reports; escalate repairs as needed.
• Follow safety policies and keep the shop and work area clean and organized.
• Complete other job-related duties as assigned.
