About the role

Reporting to the Supervisor, the Waste Processing Tech is responsible for safely receiving, processing, and shipping waste materials through the Reworld Material Processing Facility (MPF). The WPTII is required to always work safely and compliantly while performing the following tasks based on the needs of the individual Business Unit:

• Off-loading and loading trucks to include van trailers, end-dumps, walking floor trailers, roll-off containers, and tankers.
• Waste stream identification and assist QA/QC, which includes verifying container count, shipping labels and markings, manifest number and other relevant data needed for waste processing and invoicing.
• Container sampling and recognizing non-conforming and discrepant material.
• Physically move material throughout the facility to the different processing areas as needed.
• Processing of inbound materials through several treatment technologies to include wastewater treatment, material solidification, Thermal Treatment Fuel (TTF), and Tire Derived Fuel (TDF).
• Operate processing equipment to include shredders, mixing pits, transfer pumps and conveyors.
• Perform routine operator level maintenance on equipment to include fueling, greasing and daily inspections.

Responsibilities:

• Understand the facility operating permit requirements and conduct daily activities to support all safety and compliance requirements.
• Identify and report all hazards immediately; use Stop Work Authority (SWA) when required.
• Understand and adhere to Reworld’s Life Critical Safety rules.
• Assist with Waste stream QA/QC & Lab analysis associated with receiving and shipping waste and material.
• Operate a variety of equipment including but not limited to pressure washers, power tools, hand trucks, forklifts, manlifts and other power tools in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as OSHA requirements.
• Safely operate mobile equipment (e.g., yard dog) within the facility boundaries.
• Able to safely load and off load inbound packages, liquid trucks, and containers.
• Process inbound material using facility and mobile equipment.
• Complete and submit all facility associated paperwork for blend protocols, waste tracking, compliance, and facility metrics.
• Spill containment and clean up.
• Participate in facility audits and inspections.
• Successfully complete initial and ongoing training to enhance your core.
• Maintain facility housekeeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Reworld management.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma / GED preferred; Reworld offers GED Works – a fully funded program for employees to achieve their GED.
• 1+ year of experiencein construction, shipping/receiving and/or environmental industry.
• Forklift experience.
• Able to pass respirator fit testand maintain respiratory clearance.
• Ability to use Company software applications such as NetSuite, Ideagen, UKG, Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Must exercise good judgement and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrate diligence and time management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to be “On-call” and work overtime if required.

Shift: Typically Monday to Friday 6am to 4pm and occasional Saturdays.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to operate forklifts, hand trucks, and other power tools.
• Must be able to lift and move up to fifty pounds.
• Kneeling, crawling, stooping, bending, or twisting for extended periods of time.
• Walking and/or standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time.
• Position requires working near and around operating mechanical parts and mobile equipment and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibrations.
• Tolerate working from heights, extreme temperature variations, and outside work.
• Ability to wear PPE required for safe job completion.
