About The Role

Reporting to the Supervisor, the Waste Processing Tech is responsible for safely receiving, processing, and shipping waste materials through the Reworld Material Processing Facility (MPF). The WPTII is required to always work safely and compliantly while performing the following tasks based on the needs of the individual Business Unit:

• Off-loading and loading trucks including van trailers, end-dumps, walking floor trailers, roll-off containers, and tankers.
• Waste stream identification and assist QA/QC, verifying container count, shipping labels and markings, manifest number, and other relevant data needed for waste processing and invoicing.
• Container sampling and recognizing non-conforming and discrepant material.
• Physically move material throughout the facility to different processing areas as needed.
• Processing inbound materials through various treatment technologies including wastewater treatment, material solidification, Thermal Treatment Fuel (TTF), and Tire Derived Fuel (TDF).
• Operate processing equipment such as shredders, mixing pits, transfer pumps, and conveyors.
• Perform routine operator-level maintenance on equipment including fueling, greasing, and daily inspections.

Responsibilities

• Understand facility operating permit requirements and conduct daily activities supporting safety and compliance.
• Identify and report hazards immediately; use Stop Work Authority (SWA) when required.
• Adhere to Reworld’s Life Critical Safety rules.
• Assist with Waste stream QA/QC & Lab analysis related to receiving and shipping waste and materials.
• Operate equipment including pressure washers, power tools, hand trucks, forklifts, manlifts, and others per company policies and OSHA requirements.
• Safely operate mobile equipment within the facility.
• Load and unload inbound packages, liquid trucks, and containers safely.
• Process inbound materials using facility and mobile equipment.
• Complete and submit all related paperwork for protocols, tracking, compliance, and metrics.
• Manage spill containment and cleanup.
• Participate in audits and inspections.
• Complete initial and ongoing training.
• Maintain facility housekeeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED preferred; Reworld offers GED Works program.
• At least 1 year experience in construction, shipping/receiving, or environmental industry.
• Forklift experience.
• Ability to pass respirator fit test and maintain clearance.
• Proficiency with Company software (NetSuite, Ideagen, UKG, Outlook, Word, Excel).

• Good judgment and critical thinking skills.
• Strong diligence and time management.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Availability for on-call and overtime work.

Physical Demands

• Operate forklifts, hand trucks, and power tools.
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Kneeling, crawling, bending, twisting for extended periods.
• Work near operating machinery and in varying conditions.
• Wear PPE as required.
