Job summary
HDR is seeking a Minnesota/Wisconsin Waste Planning Section Manager to lead the development and execution of strategic waste planning initiatives. The role coordinates with local leadership and global Waste Market Sector leadership to grow the practice, manage client relationships, and oversee multi-functional staff across North America.
Ideal candidates have a strong background in landfills, waste facilities, and policy trends, with proven leadership and the ability to travel regionally to
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 7+ years in landfills, waste facilities, construction, and waste management
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Ability to travel to meet with staff in MN/WI offices and clients in the region
- Leadership and staff development experience
- Participation in professional organizations in MN/WI
Responsibilities
- Lead the waste planning section and develop the business through strategic initiatives
- Write proposals, manage projects, and build staff
- Develop long-range waste management plans for municipalities
- Support engineering and approval processes for waste facilities across North America
- Collaborate across regions and business lines to expand the waste market sector
- Engage with clients, cultivate relationships, and pursue opportunities
