Job summary

HDR is seeking a MN/WI Waste Planning Section Manager to lead the development and implementation of business strategies for the Area Waste Planning Section in coordination with local operational leadership and the Waste Market Sector global leadership. You will advance the waste planning practice and grow a multi-functional team across North America, collaborating with HDR offices and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in landfills, waste facilities, construction, and municipal waste management.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and current waste management trends.
• Strong research, analysis and interpretation skills for problem solving.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in staff management and development.
• Participation in professional organizations in MN/WI.
• Ability to travel regionally to meet with staff and clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Minnesota/Wisconsin waste planning section and grow the practice.
• Develop business strategies, write proposals, manage projects and staff.
• Support long-range waste management plans and facility development across North America.
• Collaborate across HDR regions and business lines to advance strategies.
