The City of Alexandria, Virginia seeks a Labor Supervisor to lead a team of Laborers and Equipment Operators in municipal solid waste collection across the city. You will plan routes, monitor operations, and ensure safety and performance standards are met.

Coordinate maintenance, respond to emergencies, and reassign crews as needed to maintain uninterrupted service. A CDL is required or must be obtained within six months of appointment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Three years of experience as a laborer III or Equipment Operator.
• Some employees must possess a CDL with proper endorsement within six months.

Responsabilités

• Plan, organize, and dispatch daily routes for small packer trucks servicing public space trash and recycling containers.
• Monitor field operations and conduct route inspections to ensure timely servicing and standards.
• Manage route coverage during staffing shortages by reassigning crews or driving routes.
• Coordinate maintenance, emergencies, and events with internal divisions and external contractors.
• Track daily service requests and container maintenance needs using fleet systems.
• Provide guidance on safe operation and urban maneuverability for crews.
• Gather data and report metrics to support budget and resource allocation.
• Perform related work as required.
