Job summary

Recology South Valley in Gilroy, CA is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee route assignments, coverage, and performance to ensure timely and safe waste collection services. The role requires managing drivers, analyzing routes, and maintaining safety compliance across daily operations.

The supervisor will monitor service quality, resolve customer issues, and contribute to rate discussions with management while preparing operational reports and ensuring accurate timekeeping and attendance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assigns employees to routes and pickups, balancing workload and arranging coverage.
• Ensures route completions are accountable and analyzes routes for improvements.
• Monitors operations, enforces safety policies on routes.
• Resolves customer service issues with drivers and addresses inquiries.
• May adjust rates with management approval and resolve billing disputes.
• Generates and analyzes operational reports and provides recommendations.
• Knows pricing to advise on delinquent accounts and collections.
• Performs or reviews pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Investigates injuries, accidents and incidents.
• Maintains time records and attendance, provides feedback.
• Drives trucks as needed.
• Ensures adherence to policies, procedures and CBAs.
• May assist dispatch or back-up dispatch duties.
• Participates in community meetings on behalf of the company.
• Other duties as assigned.
