Job summary

Republic Services in North Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Gate Attendant/Scale Operator to monitor waste volumes and collect fees at the site. You will verify load content, accept or reject loads, and issue receipts to customers.

The role requires balancing daily cash, recording transactions, and using scales and computer systems for accurate billing. Responsibilities include communicating with customers, supporting operations, and keeping the area clean.

Qualifications

• Experience handling cash and balancing receipts.
• Comfort using computers and various software programs.
• Prior waste facility or gate experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Determine material content entering the facility to properly bill the customer.
• Accept or reject waste loads based on content and inform appropriate alternatives.
• Receive payments and provide receipts to customers.
• Balance daily receipts and deposit to the safe depository.
• Document waste using truck scales and computer systems; track volumes.
• Notify operations of special waste; dispatch as needed and process paperwork.
• Answer phone inquiries and provide general information.
• Maintain a clean work area and perform other duties as assigned.
