Job summary

Republic Services in Indiana's Argos area is hiring a Lead Gate Attendant/Scale Operator to monitor incoming waste, record volumes and collect appropriate fees. You will coordinate daily gate activities with the Operations Clerk, Supervisor, and Manager to ensure safety, accuracy, and compliance with company policy and state regulations.

The role requires strong time management, good communication, cash handling experience, and the ability to train staff.

Qualifications

• Strong time management to complete duties safely and efficiently.
• Good communication to relay issues to management and staff.
• Experience handling cash and balancing receipts.
• Experience with computers and basic software at work.
• Waste services or similar industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review special waste files and manifests for accuracy and compliance.
• Perform weekly radiation testing where applicable at scale houses.
• Balance daily receipts and deposit funds securely.
• Direct and train staff; coordinate with clerk, supervisor, or manager.
• Document waste entries and bill customers accordingly.
