Job summary

SET Environmental Inc. near Port Arthur, TX, is seeking a Waste Management Liaison based at the Cheniere Facility (Sabine Pass). You will manage onsite waste activities, track waste flows, and coordinate shipments with SET and external vendors.

The role requires 2+ years of field experience with hazardous waste handling and strong knowledge of RCRA/DOT regulations, plus a BS in Environmental Studies. Excellent communication and self-motivation are essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Environmental Studies or related field.
• 2+ years of practical field experience including hazardous waste handling, lab packing, chemical consolidation, manifesting, and scheduling rental containers.
• Competent Computer Skills, including MS Office.
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
• Proven self-starter and highly motivated.
• Obtain and keep current all certifications/licenses required (e.g., 40 Hour HAZWOPER Training, forklift certification, medical certification including respirator use).
• Must have knowledge of all RCRA and DOT regulations.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the site waste tracking spreadsheet daily.
• Preparing shipments to SET and other established waste vendors.
• Be the point of contact person if there are compliance related issues regarding waste.
• Housekeeping in 90 Day Waste Storage Area, including required inspections, and quality control of outgoing loads prior to leaving the site to ensure load is acceptable per DOT regulations as well as the tracking of the material once it leaves the site up until the return manifest copy is received.
• Perform weekly visual inspections of Satellite Accumulation Areas, perform sampling, and maintain waste management supplies such as drums and spill response materials.
• Be a subject matter expert in waste management and interact with Athlon labs daily via phone, email, and meetings.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
