Job summary

Warehouse Services, Inc. in Liberty, SC is seeking a Waste Coordinator to implement processes that comply with South Carolina regulations for hazardous and non-hazardous waste.

You will report to the Site Manager and oversee daily waste handling, documentation, and scheduling at multiple facility locations. The role involves leading shift activities, conducting safety checks, and coordinating with supervisors to ensure daily procedures are followed.

Qualifications

  • 5 years manufacturing experience required.
  • Hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling experience a plus.
  • RCRA or DOT certification required.
  • Ability to lead shift work.
  • Strong safety, quality, and attendance history.
  • Proficiency with computers and waste scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily floor checks at satellite and accumulation stations.
  • Record data from spill drums; file appropriately.
  • Remove hazardous waste, weigh, label, and transport to designated area.
  • Remove non-hazardous waste and document processes.
  • Create and maintain monthly waste shipment schedules.
  • Manage recycling schedules for bulbs and batteries.
  • Maintain hazardous/non-hazardous waste manifests and files.
  • Inspect waste building weekly and document findings.
  • Develop and file waste profiles and air emission checks.
  • Distribute labeled drums and required labels across locations.
  • Perform daily/weekly inspections; maintain logs.
  • Maintain active hazardous chemical inventory.
  • Collect filter change logs and ensure completeness.
  • Oversee MSDS management.
  • Assist with recycling and waste pickup operations.
  • Provide training (forklift, HazCom) as needed.
  • Prepare data for audits by POTW and DHEC daily.

Description

The waste coordinator is responsible for creating processes and adhering to SC Regulations regarding producing, storage, packaging, and shipment of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste. This position will report to the Site Manager.

  • Do daily floor checks of all satellite and accumulation stations in the facility
  • Check spill drums for supplies, record, and file data
  • Removes liquid and solid hazardous waste for each location in the facility daily, compact, weigh, label, record data, and transport to hazardous area
  • Removes liquid and solid non-hazardous waste for each location in the facility daily, compact, weigh, label, record data, and transport to non-hazardous area
  • Create and maintain schedules for monthly shipments of waste to the contracted hazardous waste facility
  • Create and maintain schedules for fluorescent bulbs and batteries for recycling
  • Record and document hazardous and non-hazardous waste dates throughout facility and maintain files
  • Complies and file all hazardous and non-hazardous waste manifesting
  • Inspect hazardous waste building weekly, record and maintain files
  • Develop and file waste profiles
  • Inspect all stacks for air emissions, record, and file
  • Supplies the proper labeled drums to at satellite locations
  • Supply all labels required throughout the facility
  • Perform daily/weekly floor inspections, record, and file
  • Maintain active hazardous chemical list in the facility
  • Collect all filter change logs and check for completeness
  • MSDS management
  • Maintains scrap waste log, weekly
  • Assist with the recycle and garbage pickup with MSS
  • Work with supervisors to ensure all procedures are be followed daily
  • Conducts training when necessary (forklift, Haz communication, etc.)
  • Collect and organize data for the local POTW and DHEC audits daily
  • Emergency response training and membership

Minimum Qualifications
  • 5 years previous Manufacturing Experience
  • Haz and non–haz waste and safety experience a plus
  • RCRA, DOT certification required
  • Ability to lead shift work
  • Excellent Safety, Quality and Attendance History
  • Mechanical aptitude with manufacturing processes
  • Computer skills required, Maintain waste schedules, etc.
  • Ability to be on-call and work any schedule as requested.
