PeopleReady of Eau Claire, WI is now hiring Waste Collectors.

As a PeopleReady associate you'll ride on a garbage truck on a designated route, assist the driver, and perform routine vehicle checks in all weather. You must be able to lift 50lbs+ continuously and tolerate physically demanding work; a 100+ lbs lift is required on some tasks. Background check is required. 18+ with hard work encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Ride on the back of a garbage collection truck, collecting solid waste on a designated route.
• Direct the driver when pulling out into traffic and backing up, and guide incoming vehicles to the dumping area at solid waste disposal facilities.
• Have knowledge of standardized work routines for manual tasks and the operation of collection vehicles in solid waste operations.
• Check the operating and safety conditions of vehicles, perform minor servicing, and report needed repairs or maintenance.
• Assist the driver with various tasks during waste runs and be able to lift 100+ lbs many times throughout the day.
• Be able to work in all weather conditions.

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $18.75 - $18.75 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Waste Collector:

• Ride on the back of a garbage collection truck, collecting solid waste on a designated route.
• Direct the driver when pulling out into traffic and backing up, and guide incoming vehicles to the dumping area at solid waste disposal facilities
• Have knowledge of standardized work routines for manual tasks and the operation of collection vehicles in solid waste operations
