Job summary

PeopleReady of Bowling Green, KY is hiring Refuse And Recyclable Material Collectors to join our team. The role involves riding on a garbage truck, collecting solid waste on a designated route, and guiding traffic and vehicles at disposal facilities.

The pay rate is $15 – $15 per hour, with 1st shift daytime hours available. The job requires physical work, ability to lift heavy loads, and working in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to lift 50lbs or more continuously during route.
• Able to work in inclement weather.
• Physically demanding work.
• Knowledge of waste collection routines.
• Ability to climb, bend, push, pull on route.

Responsibilities

• Ride on the back of a garbage collection truck and collect solid waste on a designated route.

• Check vehicle operating and safety conditions and report needed repairs.
• Assist the driver with tasks during routes and lift 100+ lbs many times daily.

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $15 – $15 / hour*

What you’ll be doing as a Refuse And Recyclable Material Collector:

• Ride on the back of a garbage collection truck, collecting solid waste on a designated route
• Direct the driver when pulling out into traffic and backing up, and guide incoming vehicles to the dumping area at solid waste disposal facilities
• Have knowledge of standardized work routines for manual tasks and the operation of collection vehicles in solid waste operations
• Check the operating and safety conditions of vehicles, perform minor servicing, and report needed repairs or maintenance
• Assist the driver with various tasks during waste runs and be able to lift 100+ lbs many times throughout the day
• Be able to work in all weather conditions
