Job summary

City of Shreveport Public Works is seeking an Operator/Collector responsible for collecting backdoor and curbside solid waste from residential and commercial establishments. The role may also involve litter pickup, mowing, and removal of waste from refuse vehicles, and may require driving and operating refuse trucks to pickup locations.

Duty includes operating equipment, riding vehicles to sites, and performing preventative maintenance on gear.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A or Class B CDL Louisiana Driver's License.
• Experience operating refuse trucks and related equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect backdoor and curbside solid waste from residential and commercial establishments.
• Operate refuse trucks and other assigned vehicles to and from pickup locations.
• Rides refuse collection vehicle to and from work sites.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and irregular hours.
