Job summary

GFL Environmental is seeking a Helper to assist drivers and crew in collecting solid waste and recyclables in Wilmington, NC. You will help load materials, assist with vehicle operations, and follow safety protocols on every shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license preferred but not required.
• Must meet safety-sensitive criteria per company standards.

Responsibilities

• Collect solid waste/recyclables from customer premises or curbside.
• Load waste into rear or side of collection vehicle.
• Assist driver with backing and maneuvering in tight spaces.
• Operate equipment on truck to compact materials.
• Report customer problems to the driver immediately.
