Job summary

Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support is seeking a seasoned Planner to provide guidance for operational and contingency plans and to serve as advisor to assigned commands on logistics planning within the DoD supply chain.

The role involves evaluating plans, resolving shortfalls, monitoring planning initiatives, and analyzing theater operations during exercises to improve doctrine and readiness for wartime missions.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience in developing contingency and wartime logistics plans.
• Understanding of military command structures and interagency relationships.
• Knowledge of logistics management concepts including supply, storage, transport, and distribution.
• Experience in planning, executing, and evaluating complex logistics operations and exercises.

Responsibilities

• Provide authoritative guidance to design, develop, execute, and promulgate operational and contingency plans.
• Advise commands on logistics planning in support of the DoD Executive Agent supply chain.
• Evaluate contingency operation plans and assess DLA Troop Support tasks and missions.
• Identify and resolve shortfalls impacting wartime logistics support capability.
• Monitor agency planning initiatives and inform officials of new developments.
• Analyze theater operations and determine tasks and missions through exercises.
• Collect and evaluate AARs and lessons learned to improve DoD and DLA doctrine and plans.
