MAHLE GmbH in Farmington Hills, MI is seeking a Warranty Engineer to support all aspects of the warranty process, including claim review, customer communication, returned-part evaluation, failure analysis, root cause investigation, and reporting. This hybrid role combines office and on-site work to resolve warranty concerns and improve product quality.

The ideal candidate will have a engineering background, 1+ year of experience (or equivalent), and proficiency in Power BI, Excel, Power Query,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 1+ year of experience.
  • Experience with automotive OEM warranty systems (GM, Ford, Stellantis, Mercedes-Benz, PACCAR, BMW, Nissan, Toyota, Honda).
  • Proficient in Power BI, Excel, Power Query, and data analysis tools; macros preferred.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific automotive quality requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary contact for customer warranty concerns, ensuring timely response, investigation, and resolution.
  • Review warranty claims for validity, dispute unsupported claims, and ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements and warranty agreements.
  • Defend the company against No Trouble Found (NTF) claims and lead Technical Factor negotiations with customers.
  • Adhere to customer timing requirements for Initial Technical Responses (ITRs), 8Ds, and other warranty-related deliverables.
  • Maintain accurate records of warranty claims, investigations, corrective actions, and resolutions.
  • Utilize SAP for warranty-related data entry, sales order creation, and claim tracking.
  • Lead and support root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies, including 8D and 5-Why analysis.

Your Contribution:

As a Warranty Engineer you will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the warranty process, including claim review, customer communication, returned-part evaluation, failure analysis, root cause investigation, and reporting. This role works closely with customers and cross-functional teams to resolve warranty concerns, drive corrective actions, and improve product quality. The position requires strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills to effectively manage warranty claims, document findings, maintain accurate records, and support customer and internal reporting requirements. This is a hybrid position located in Farmington Hills, MI.

Your main activities will be:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer warranty concerns, ensuring timely response, investigation, and resolution.

Your Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field, plus 1+ year of relevant experience; or an Associate degree with 5+ years of relevant experience; or 10+ years of related work experience.
  • Experience with automotive OEM warranty systems (e.g., GM, Ford, Stellantis, Mercedes-Benz, PACCAR, BMW, Nissan, Toyota, Honda).
  • Proficiency in Power BI, Microsoft Excel, Power Query, and data analysis tools; experience with macros is preferred.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific automotive quality requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and corrective action development.
