Job summary

Expeditors in Minnesota is seeking an entry level Logistics Agent to manage a customer portfolio, schedule transportation, and ensure timely documentation within standard processes. You will focus on ground/road freight and warehousing tasks, with strong training to develop your logistics skills.

You will track shipments, coordinate domestic and international moves, assist with client billing, and learn US export and Dangerous Goods rules while building solid supplier relationships and meeting

Qualifications

• 2 years of logistics experience or equivalent training.
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree.
• Good computer skills (e.g., MS Excel, MS Word).
• Strong problem solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Own a customer portfolio and manage bookings, pickups, and transportation scheduling.
• Provide timely documentation and process data in Expeditors systems per standards.
• Communicate delays and autonomously resolve issues to meet delivery needs.
• Track and trace shipments and generate reports.
• Coordinate domestic and international shipments.
• Assist with client billing and learn export regulations (US).
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and meet KPI standards.

Job-Specific Tasks and Duties

As a agent with Expeditors you will take ownership of a customer portfolio, being responsible for bookings, accurate pick up and scheduling of transportation between customer, service provider and receiver. You will provide timely and accurate documentation, processes through Expeditors systems within the operational process standards. You will communicate delays and work with autonomy to solve challenges to achieve delivery needs of your clients. This is an entry level position that provides opportunity for advancement based on success. Heavy focus on ground/road freight and warehousing/distribution which includes basic warehouse activities/inventory management. Strong training program available to develop skillset with leading global logistics provider.

• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operational system
• Track and Trace truck transportation shipments and reporting
• Coordinate domestic and/or international shipments
• Ensure accurate and timely client billing
• Learn US Export and Dangerous Goods compliance regulations
• Contribute and maintain good relationships with suppliers
• Meet both company and US compliance standards at all times
• Meet KPI standards in accordance with Company policy

Physical Demands

• Use of standard office equipment - computer with keyboard and mouse, phone, fax/copy/scan machine, etc.
• Use of standard Warehouse equipment - pallet jack, scanners, forklift
• Write with pencil/pen/marker
• Functions performed both at a desk and within the warehouse
• Attend meetings in alternate locations i.e. conference room for collaboration and training purposes

Additional Information

Expected base salary: $22/hr to $23/hr

May be eligible for bonus following first year of continuous employment in position.
