Summary

Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager and/or Dock Lead, assist in loading contributed goods onto and off trucks and attend donation stations. Major duties include securing items to prevent damage, assisting drivers, and processing textile and hard goods products.

Essential Functions/Duties

• Assist in loading contributed goods onto trucks using proper lifting procedures.
• Assist in loading and unloading store merchandise orders or return items as directed by the Warehouse Manager and/or Dock Lead.
• Support forklift and warehouse workers in loading or unloading trucks and placing items in designated areas.
• Secure articles with ropes and padding to prevent damage as required.
• Load empty barrels, hand trucks, or other equipment necessary for each trip.
• Pack and stack goods carefully to prevent damage during loading and unloading.
• Assist in processing textile and hard good products.
• Present a professional image of Goodwill Industries to the public.
• Maintain appropriate dress code, including wearing a name badge.
• Willing to become forklift certified.

Additional Functions/Duties

• Assist in baling salvage textiles manually or with an automated baler.
• Operate compactor equipment.
• Follow all safety and security procedures.
• Evaluate and stage furniture.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse and/or Dock Lead.
