Job summary

Daniels Health in Dothan, AL is seeking a Plant Operator for our medical waste treatment facility. The role involves lifting heavy bins, weighing waste containers, operating autoclave and wash systems, and handling paperwork with accuracy.

The candidate must be able to stand for long periods, work as part of a team, and pass a 5-panel drug screen plus a 7-year background check. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with standard day shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a warehouse labor-intensive job (repetitive lifting of 50lbs to 75lb containers).
• Willingness to take a 5 panel urine drug screening.
• Willingness to take a 7 year background check.
• Basic math and ability to read/record weights accurately.
• Familiarity with weighbridge/scale systems.
• Comfort with repetitive tasks while maintaining quality standards.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and working in PPE.
• Proven longevity with employers.
• Can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking to hire a Plant Operator for our Daniels’ medical waste treatment facility in Dothan, AL. A Plant Operator has a widely varying role, from checking in containers, double checking paperwork, moving/unloading specific waste containers, and operating a forklift to load an autoclave. The ideal Plant Operator is an individual who likes variety in their work and can think through practical problems.

What will your job involve?

• Lifting 55lbs bins and push a four-wheeled cart that weighs as much as 200lbs
• Weigh incoming sharps and medical waste containers
• Load/operate our autoclave machine (a pressure chamber to melt materials)
• Load the Washsmart system (container washing + sanitization system)
• Provide attention to detail with the paperwork required to process containers
• Standing for extended periods of time happily and comfortably
• Working well with a team!
