Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Waukegan, IL is seeking a full-time Warehouse Associate to support donation processing and warehouse operations as part of a work therapy program. This role offers hands-on responsibilities across equipment operation and team collaboration.

You will load and unload donations, organize areas, track items, price merchandise, complete reports, and assist donors while following safety protocols and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and guidelines.
• Comfort with handling donations of clothing, home goods, and electronics.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move products to correct departments.
• Price merchandise according to guidelines.
• Track production numbers and complete reports.
• Maintain organized work areas and clean environment.
• Operate warehouse equipment as trained.
• Assist donors with donation drop-offs.
• Complete donation receipts accurately.
• Collect and track donor information.
• Process various types of donations including: clothing and accessories, household items, electronics, furniture and antiques, jewelry and collectibles.
• Operate equipment such as baler, compactor, and elevator when trained.

At The Salvation Army Thrift Store, your work helps turn donations into funding for programs that support people in our community. This dynamic role combines hands-on warehouse operations with the opportunity to mentor and support program beneficiaries in their work therapy development. You'll help maintain an organized warehouse while making a meaningful impact in people's lives.

What You’ll Do

Warehouse Operations

• Load, unload, and move products to correct departments
• Price merchandise according to guidelines
• Track production numbers and complete reports
• Maintain organized work areas and clean environment
• Operate warehouse equipment as trained
• Follow safety protocols and procedures
• Assist donors with donation drop-offs
• Complete donation receipts accurately

Equipment Operation May be trained to operate:
