Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets in Ashland, VA is seeking an Overnight warehouse selector to accurately and efficiently pick products for Wegmans stores. You will join a team focused on safety, speed, and quality, with exposure to cold environments when needed.

The role runs four 10-hour overnight shifts, with the potential for overtime and a $2/hr premium for frozen items. Comprehensive benefits and a supportive safety culture are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with pallet jack, forklift, and Vocollect.
• Ability to operate safely in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally/throughout shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assemble pallets safely and efficiently to maximize trailer space and minimize damage.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and Vocollect as required.
• Perform order audits for accuracy and quality.
• Maintain knowledge of product quality standards/specifications.
• Inform management of daily quality issues using reports and communication.
• Maintain cold chain integrity for temperature-controlled loads.
• Handle lifts up to 20–25 pounds on average with occasional heavier weights.

EARN A BONUS UP TO $500! As a warehouse selector on our distribution team, you’ll help deliver exceptional service by accurately and efficiently selecting products for Wegmans stores, using your attention to detail and teamwork skills to ensure success.

Work schedule

Overnight positions consist of four 10-hour shifts per week

What You'll Do

• Ensure pallets of product are built safely and efficiently in a manner that minimizes product damage in transportation and maximizes trailer space
• Safely operate equipment necessary to perform job duties; this may include a forklift, pallet jack, and/or Vocollect
• Perform order audits to determine accuracy and quality
• Maintain knowledge of all quality standards/specifications and requirements for all products
• Inform operations management of daily quality issues using reports as well as other forms of necessary communication
• Maintain the integrity of the cold chain on loads that have temperature requirements
• May work in and have exposure to cold temperatures; lift weight of 20-25 pounds on average with maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally to frequently

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience with operating a pallet jack, forklift, and Vocollect

Note: Frozen positions earn an extra $2.00/hour
