Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets in Ashland, VA is hiring a warehouse selector for our distribution team. Overnight shifts consist of four 10-hour shifts per week. You will build pallets, operate equipment, and audit orders to ensure accuracy and quality.

Ideal candidates have experience with pallet jacks, forklifts, and Vocollect, with a focus on safety and teamwork. Frozen positions offer an extra $2/hour, and Wegmans provides comprehensive benefits and safety training.

Responsibilities

• Build pallets safely and efficiently to maximize trailer space and minimize damage.
• Operate equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, and Vocollect.

• Maintain knowledge of product quality standards and requirements.
• Inform operations management of daily quality issues using reports.
• Maintain cold chain integrity for temperature-controlled loads.
• Lift up to 50+ pounds as needed and work in cold temperatures when required.

EARN A BONUS UP TO $500! As a warehouse selector on our distribution team, you’ll help deliver exceptional service by accurately and efficiently selecting products for Wegmans stores, using your attention to detail and teamwork skills to ensure success.

Work schedule

Overnight positions consist of four 10-hour shifts per week

What You'll Do

• Ensure pallets of product are built safely and efficiently in a manner that minimizes product damage in transportation and maximizes trailer space
• Safely operate equipment necessary to perform job duties; this may include a forklift, pallet jack, and/or Vocollect
• Perform order audits to determine accuracy and quality
• Maintain knowledge of all quality standards/specifications and requirements for all products
• Inform operations management of daily quality issues using reports as well as other forms of necessary communication
• Maintain the integrity of the cold chain on loads that have temperature requirements
• May work in and have exposure to cold temperatures; lift weight of 20-25 pounds on average with maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally to frequently

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience with operating a pallet jack, forklift, and Vocollect

Note: Frozen positions earn an extra $2.00/hour
