Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets in Ashland, VA is seeking a warehouse selector to accurately pick products for Wegmans stores. You will work overnight, ensuring pallets are built safely, efficiently, and with attention to detail to protect product quality and space utilization.

The role requires operating pallet jacks, forklifts, and Vocollect, plus adherence to quality standards and cold‑chain integrity. You may lift 20–25 lbs on average, with higher weights occasionally.

Qualifications

• Experience with pallet jack, forklift, and Vocollect.
• Ability to work overnight and sustain 10-hour shifts.
• Comfort with cold environments and lifting 20–25 lb.

Responsibilities

• Build pallets safely and efficiently to maximize space and minimize damage.
• Operate equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, and Vocollect.
• Perform order audits for accuracy and quality.
• Maintain knowledge of product quality standards and specs.
• Inform operations of daily quality issues via reports.
• Maintain cold chain integrity for temperature-controlled loads.
• Lift 20–25 lb on average; up to 50+ lb occasionally.

As a warehouse selector on our distribution team, you'll help deliver exceptional service by accurately and efficiently selecting products for Wegmans stores, using your attention to detail and teamwork skills to ensure success.

Work schedule:

Overnight positions consist of four 10‑hour shifts per week

What You'll Do

• Ensure pallets of product are built safely and efficiently in a manner that minimizes product damage in transportation and maximizes trailer space
• Safely operate equipment necessary to perform job duties; this may include a forklift, pallet jack, and/or Vocollect
• Perform order audits to determine accuracy and quality
• Maintain knowledge of all quality standards/specifications and requirements for all products
• Inform operations management of daily quality issues using reports as well as other forms of necessary communication
• Maintain the integrity of the cold chain on loads that have temperature requirements
• May work in and have exposure to cold temperatures; lift weight of 20‑25 pounds on average with maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally to frequently

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience with operating a pallet jack, forklift, and Vocollect

Note: Frozen positions earn an extra $2.00/hour
