Utz Quality Foods is currently seeking a Warehouse Utility associate to join our sales operations team at the Wilmington, MA Distribution Center. The Warehouse Utility associate oversees and organizes warehouse operations. Key responsibilities include ensuring product rotation, condition, inventory, security, and placement are efficiently maintained; and covering open sales routes and delivering product as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the warehouse is opened and closed at scheduled times.
- Check products picked and loaded by Independent Operators and Distributors, signing load tickets to verify correct inventory.
- Assist with training new warehouse team members.
- Order inventory, receive, store, load, and ensure all products and materials are accounted for and in excellent condition.
- Unload trailers and verify trailer loads for accuracy.
- Maintain accurate daily inventory balances.
- Use a hand-held computer to balance daily inventory, including warehouse inventory, orders, returns, and trailer loads.
- Accept and check return to stock products, including stale and damaged items.
- Place returned cardboard, stale, and damaged products on trailers.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, including restrooms.
- Keep the warehouse organized, including product rotation.
- Cover open routes as directed, maintaining plan-a-gram, stock levels, and proper product rotation on shelves.
- Use point of purchase materials as needed.
- Deliver products to customers and bins, merchandising authorized products in serviced accounts.
- Assist with month-end inventory counts.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, or 2+ years of relevant warehouse experience preferred.
- Prior experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems like D365 is highly preferred.
- Strong organization and attention to detail for inventory management.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math skills required.
- Ability to make independent decisions regarding inventory, especially during promotions.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a DOT medical card.
- Must be 19 years or older.
- Ability to operate a route sales delivery step van or box truck safely.
- Willingness to fill in and cover open routes.
- Ability to operate a forklift and/or hand jack may be required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Physical ability to walk, sit, talk, bend, stand, twist, push, and pull frequently and for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, load, and transport light to medium weight products.
