Earle M. Jorgensen Company is seeking a Tube Laser Operator for the 2nd shift to set up, operate, and maintain tube laser equipment. You will load materials, import part files, adjust machine settings, and inspect parts to ensure conformance with specifications.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical aptitude, can read blueprints, perform precise measurements, and work safely to ensure high quality. This role supports a fast-paced manufacturing environment with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

1–2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Ability to obtain certification to operate material handling equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Basic math and measurement skills including fractions and unit conversions.

Responsibilities

Verify raw materials using tape measures and calipers according to EMJ color codes.
Load raw material using forklifts, side loaders, or overhead cranes.
Import part files into the laser system from a remote drive using Windows-based applications.
Set machine parameters, change lenses, nozzles, and filters, and perform basic maintenance.
Adjust laser focus, gas pressure, and power settings on the laser system.
Inspect finished parts using calipers, height gauges, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure they match print specifications.
Package finished parts following packaging instructions and transport to staging areas using forklifts or cranes.
Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety protocols.

Job Summary

The Tube Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the tube laser machine(s) in accordance with standard operating procedures and work instructions. This role includes selecting and loading raw materials, importing part files, adjusting machine settings, and inspecting parts to ensure conformance to specifications. Operators are expected to have a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools. Safety, quality, and efficiency are essential in this role.

This role is classified as Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Warehouse/Field setting; minimal temperature environment.
