Job summary

FedEx Supply Chain, Inc. in New Lenox, IL is seeking a Trainer to onboard, mentor, and train new hires on safety procedures, operational workflows, and powered equipment like forklifts. You will review and revise training materials in collaboration with leadership to ensure OSHA and SOP compliance.

The role involves providing initial and cross training, maintaining records, coaching trainees, identifying skill gaps, and supporting continuous improvement in training and workforce readiness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience training and/or mentoring employees in a warehouse setting.
• Ability to clearly demonstrate processes and explain expectations to new employees.
• Strong communication skills with a patient, supportive coaching style.
• Attention to detail and commitment to consistent, repeatable training.
• Basic computer skills for training documentation and tracking.
• Strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective initial training and cross training for employees, vendors and agency employees if applicable.
• Maintain accurate training records and update training materials as necessary to reflect current best practices.
• Observe trainee performance and provide real‑time coaching and constructive feedback.
• Identify skill gaps and escalated training or performance concerns to Leadership.
• Support retraining, refresher training, and cross‑training as needed due to process or quality changes.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to training consistency and workforce readiness.
• Act as a mentor to new employees, fostering a positive, safety-conscious work culture.
