Job summary

Core-Mark is seeking a Training Specialist to design and deliver training for warehouse associates at our Springfield location. You will train on order selection, forklift operation, putaway, and safety, using WMS/SAE and reporting tools to monitor progress and document outcomes.

You will partner with leadership to standardize training across shifts, provide timely feedback, and ensure compliance with safety policies while supporting internal teams to meet accuracy, productivity, and cost goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years order selection experience desired.
• Ability to create and deliver training programs.
• Familiar with instructional design principles.
• Clear verbal and written communication.
• Active listening and presentation skills.
• Ability to assess training needs and effectiveness.
• Strong time management and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on training to new and existing warehouse associates to ensure safe, accurate, and productive performance.
• Train associates on order selection, forklift operation, putaway, replenishment, loading, and safety procedures.
• Utilize warehouse systems and tools effectively (e.g., WMS, SAE, reporting platforms).
• Conduct observations and provide timely feedback to trainees and supervisors.
• Reinforce safety policies and ensure training aligns with standards.
• Maintain training documentation and records.
• Support classroom and floor-based instruction for long-term success.
• Demonstrate strong customer service by supporting internal teams and meeting goals.
• Identify skill gaps and recommend development plans or retraining.
• Collaborate with leadership to standardize training across shifts.
• Performs other duties as assigned and complies with policies.

Position Summary:

Responsible for training and/or re‑training order selectors, forklift operators, loaders, and other warehouse associates on all aspects of position job duties. Utilizes company training guides, manuals, checklists, and processes to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Performs preferred work method observations and provides verbal and written feedback on trainee performance, including suggested development actions. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.

• Identify skill gaps and recommend development plans or re‑training as needed.

Qualifications:

Required Education:

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience

Work Experience:

• 1 - 3 Years - At least 1 year of order selection experience within the company or 2+ years of order selection experience overall
