Performs duties associated with warehouse inventory disbursements and receiving. This is a part-time, temporary position. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Receives warehouse orders in Workday Inventory processes requests; delivers stock to departments.
- Enters disbursements into Workday Inventory to ensure items are disbursed to proper accounts and projects.
- Checks and monitors stock levels to determine inventory level; creates purchase orders to restock warehouse inventory stock items.
- Processes incoming stock by inspecting conditions of items, may perform operations checks on equipment; compares count/measure of items to purchase order and packing listings; notes/resolves discrepancies; corrects shortages and obtains credits; enters stock received into Workday inventory tracking system; ensures the payment process is initiated.
- Performs warehouse facility duties, including cleaning, making minor repairs; organizing stock and non-stock items, clerical duties; and ensuring the facility follows safety codes.
- Contacts vendors to get pricing on different products for purchasing; uses bid sheet to get pricing from current vendors; contact vendors regarding past due deliveries.
- Processes pick tickets for all orders requested in Workday Inventory.
- Processes weekly deliveries including janitorial materials.
- Maintains safety compliance guidelines in all City Warehouses.
- Performs other work as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of full-time warehouse, material handling, or electrical warehouse experience.
- OR Any combination of experience, education or training that provides the required knowledge, skills or abilities.
- Knowledge of: Fundamental inventory control procedures.
- Knowledge of: Warehouse procedures.
- Knowledge of: Water, wastewater, electric and other products used by a municipality.
- Knowledge of: City practices, policies and procedures; federal and state laws, rules and regulations related to purchasing.
- Knowledge of: General OSHA Safety Guidelines for Warehouses.
- Skill in: Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Skill in: Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Skill in: Reading and comprehending office memos, warning labels, and department procurement requisitions.
- Skill in: Performing basic mathematical functions.
- Skill in: Interpreting policies and procedures.
- Skill in: Typing 40 wpm, performing simple data entry & retrieval.
- Skill in: Using computers and related software applications; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Workday.
- Skill in: Using various types of equipment.
- Skill in: Maintaining technical knowledge regarding material handling, shipping and receiving of inventory.
- Skill in: Operating various pieces of large equipment.
- Skill in: Performing detailed work.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Class "C" Texas driver’s license
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, crouching, bending, vision, hearing, talking, use of foot controls.
- Some exposure to weather extremes while receiving and delivering shipments.
Hiring Range: $20, hourly.
