Job summary

Accel Entertainment, Inc. is seeking an electronics technician to inspect, repair, troubleshoot, and prepare gaming and ATM equipment for deployment or decommissioning in line with Illinois Gaming Board specifications.

The role requires 2 years of electronic training and hands-on experience with gaming devices, ATMs, and related equipment. Candidates should be able to lift heavy gear and operate forklifts safely, ensuring high-quality gear handling and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 2 years of electronic technical training preferred.
• 2 years of slot technician/video gaming terminal, ATM, or amusement equipment experience preferred.
• Must understand basic electronic theory and mechanics.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and instruments.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, clean, repair, troubleshoot, and prepare gaming and ATM equipment per specs.
• Move equipment between transport, warehouse, and preparation areas; operate lifting aids.
• Disassemble obsolete or damaged components and test/clean parts.
• Identify malfunctions and perform necessary repairs on electronic devices and equipment.

SUMMARY

The primary responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to inspecting, cleaning, repairing, troubleshooting, moving, disassembling, reassembling, and preparing gaming, amusement, and ATM equipment for field deployment or decommissioning in accordance with Accel Entertainment and Illinois Gaming Board specifications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure quality and integrity of all incoming and outgoing equipment
• Moves video gaming terminals (slot machines), Ticket Redemption Machines, Automatic Teller Machines, Amusement Equipment, and associated equipment between transport trucks, warehouse storage, and equipment preparation areas
• Able to obtain forklift certification and use non-powered dollies, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
• Disassembles obsolete or damaged equipment, then tests and cleans removed parts
• Inspects, tests, troubleshoots, cleans, and perform repairs on electronic gaming devices, Ticket Redemption Machines, Automatic Teller Machines, Amusement Equipment, machine parts, and associated equipment
• Installs and remove locks on video gaming terminals, Ticket Redemption Machines, Automatic Teller Machines, and Amusement Devices
• Identify and troubleshoot all malfunctions to perform necessary repairs of electronic devices and equipment
• Identify and communicate inventory needs for equipment to ensure minimal downtime and quick turnaround of product
• Observe all safety regulations and report unsafe conditions to management
• Follow all department, company, and state policies and procedures
• Additional duties may be required, such as oversight on parts, management of any camera related initiatives, and installation of gaming and amusement equipment
• Prioritize customer satisfaction and deliver a positive experience to both internal and external customers

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2 years of electronic technical training preferred
• 2 years of slot technician/video gaming terminal, ATM, or amusement equipment experience, including installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic systems and equipment preferred
• Must demonstrate an ability to understand basic electronic theory and mechanics
• Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and instruments
• Able to operate forklifts and non-powered dollies, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
• Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
• Versatility and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
• At least 21 years of age
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain a Terminal Handler's License from the Illinois Gaming Board

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Frequently required to stand, sit, walk, talk, and hear
• Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity, including use of a keyboard
• Frequently required to lift/push weights up to 1100 pounds
• Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust or focus
• Exposure to hot and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

Base Pay Range :

$22.00 per hour

This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The base salary will depend on a number of factors such as: qualifications, experience level, and skillset.
