Description
Responsible for managing supplies in the hospital warehouse, including receiving supplies from vendors. Responsible for the supply process from the time the requisition is received to product delivered and then to delivery to the end users, which include NTMC departments and all off-site clinics. Must have basic computer skills, be able to handle multiple tasks, track as duties are completed, and be flexible to deal with changing priorities. This is a Part Time position scheduled 8a-2p M-F
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Conducts counts of all assigned par areas daily.
- Pulls supplies that are expired and or damaged in this process. Replaces damaged/expired products and brings all count areas to par.
- Pulls recalled products as indicated by Buyer/Director
- Where available, utilizes hand held scanning equipment to complete tasks.
- Manages stock for assigned areas. Fills requisitions from those areas as well as from the Buyer from the patient charge sheets. Delivers supplies in a covered cart, bin or box to ensure the product is clean and free from damage. Puts away supplies where assigned. Make sure supply rooms, cabinets, drawers are neat and orderly.
- Fills requisitions for other departments on a first-come, first served basis. Makes notations on paperwork if supply items are running low or the last is being pulled for that order. Ensures the correct product is being pulled as shown on the requisitions. Takes all supplies to the areas in a covered cart to keep product from being damaged when transported from the warehouse to the hospital. Supplies taken to off-site clinics will be placed in boxes or plastic bins to insure supplies are clean when delivered and not mixed with other products for other clinics.
- Manages incoming freight (Fed-X, UPS, couriers, vendors) using the proper documentation paperwork in Meditech. Ensures a three-way match is completed on each delivery (from PO to packing slip to products). Any discrepancies are to be brought to the attention of the Buyer or Director and not delivered to any area until the discrepancies are corrected. Processes receiving documents into Meditech on the day the product arrives into the warehouse unless otherwise directed by the Director.
- Manages incoming freight to ensure that boxes/containers have no visible damage or leakage. Does not deliver these to the area that ordered; rather brings the product and all paperwork to the Buyer or Director to contact the vendor regarding the damage. Makes sure all visible damage is reported on the paperwork from the delivery company (Fed-X, UPS, couriers, vendors).
- Manages incoming freight using the proper paperwork for items received at the hospital that do not contain a Purchase Order number to insure the correct department receives the product.
- Manages incoming freight where there is concealed damage or leakage. Does not deliver these to the area that ordered the item; rather brings the product and all paperwork to the Buyer or Director to contact the vendor regarding the damage.
- Manage supplies in the warehouse. Rotates stock to insure product first in/first out (FIFO system). Stock should be pulled from the right side of the bin/shelf and restocked on the left side. Products should be pulled from shipping cartons and put on shelves or bins to insure the warehouse is kept as clean as possible. Performs weekly cycle counting of products.
- Supplies are to be reviewed at least every other month for expiration dates, proper rotation on shelf and that items are not dirty/dusty. This also true for supplies in the nursing areas that the staff member is responsible to maintain.
- Participates in the semi-annual inventory count.
- Conducts warehouse counts, cycle counts, and re-counts to assure accuracy.
- As assigned, may assist staff in clinical and non-clinical areas to count and record.
- When acting as hospital courier, maintain a professional manner. Delivers to off-site clinic supplies, equipment, and linen as requested. Picks up a bank bag, lab specimens and covered and bagged soiled linen from clinical areas.
- Must be able to operate hospital vehicle in a safe manner.
- Manages the crash cart supply trays. Cleans crash cart as instructed in the Crash Cart Policy. Performs monthly monitoring of crash cart trays to insure all expired products are removed within the first 5 business days of the month.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in warehouse operations preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, turn and reach overhead
- Must be able to walk or stand for long periods of time
