Job summary

Interstate Batteries is seeking a warehouse associate for the Glen Burnie, MD area to support distribution center tasks. You will operate RF barcode scanners and various equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and WMS applications, to receive, transfer, pick, pack and ship orders.

The role requires a high school diploma and 0.5+ years in warehouse operations, with strong attention to detail and a cooperative, team-oriented attitude. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in warehouse operations with RF equipment and forklift preferred.
• Ability to learn computer systems.
• Strong accuracy and sense of urgency.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process receiving, transfers, picks, packs, and ships.
• Handling of product per warehouse distributor standards (receiving, transfer, pick, pack, ship).
• Properly tag pallets for transfer, pick, pack, ship.
• General warehousing duties including restocking shelves and housekeeping of assigned areas.
• Ability to multi-task and quickly transition between tasks.
• Other warehouse duties as assigned by warehouse distributor management.

Purpose Of Job

Ability to accurately and efficiently complete assigned distribution center tasks using a variety of equipment including RF barcode scanning devices, material handling equipment - electric and manual pallet jacks, stand-up and sit-down forklifts, WMS applications, and other shipping applications.

Job Components

• Accurately process system and manual transactions (receiving, transfer, pick, pack, ship)
• Handling of product per the warehouse distributor standards (receiving, transfer, pick, pack, ship)
• Properly tag pallets (for transfer, pick, pack, ship)
• General warehousing duties (such as restocking shelves and housekeeping of assigned areas)

Qualifications

• High school graduate and strong basic math skills
• Minimum ½ year experience in warehouse operations - including RF/HH equipment, forklift, electric pallet jack and stretch-wrap machine preferably in warehouse environment
• Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Sense of urgency and well organized
• Cooperative team like attitude

Work Environment

• Warehouse distributor environment may be subject to temperature extremes, dust, fumes and battery acid
