Job summary

Interstate Batteries is seeking a Warehouse Team Member I to accurately complete distribution center tasks using RF scanners, material handling equipment, and WMS applications. You will support loading/unloading batteries and maintaining inventory in a fast-paced environment.

No experience is required; training will be provided. You may lift up to 50 lbs regularly, work overtime as needed, and contribute to a safe, efficient warehouse operation with attention to detail and teamwork.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Accurately process system and manual transactions (receiving, transfer, pick, pack, ship).
• Load and unload batteries.
• Restock batteries.
• Charge, clean, date and rewrap rotations.
• Charge, test, clean, and date adjustment batteries.
• Maintain a safe and clean warehouse environment.
• Accurately maintain warehouse reporting and claims.
• Operate a forklift and maintain a current certification.
• Properly tag pallets (for transfer, pick, pack, ship).
• General warehousing duties (restocking shelves and housekeeping).
• Ability to multi-task and transition between tasks.
• Other warehouse duties as assigned by management.

Purpose Of Job

The Warehouse Team Member I has the ability to accurately and efficiently complete assigned distribution center tasks using a variety of equipment including RF barcode scanning devices, material handling equipment - electric and manual pallet jacks, stand-up and sit-down forklifts, WMS applications, and other shipping applications.

Qualifications

• High school graduate

• No experience required. Experience in warehouse operations preferred - including RF/HH equipment, forklift, electric pallet jack and stretch-wrap machine preferably in warehouse environment
• Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Sense of urgency and well organized

Work Environment

• Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, without assistance and occasionally lifting up to 75lbs
• Consistent walking or walking during shift
• Repetitive taping of boxes
• Overtime required as deemed necessary
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required
• Exposed to battery warehouse conditions, such as exposure to moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals
