Job summary

Interstate Batteries is seeking a Warehouse Team Member I in Texas to accurately complete distribution center tasks using RF barcode scanning, various warehouse equipment, and WMS applications. You will load/unload batteries, restock, rotate, test, and maintain safety and inventory accuracy.

No experience is required; a background in warehouse operations is a plus, and a current forklift certification is preferred. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
• No experience required; warehouse operations experience preferred (RF/equipment).
• Ability to learn applicable computer systems and maintain accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process system and manual transactions (receiving, transfer, pick, pack, ship).
• Load and unload batteries.
• Restock batteries.
• Charge, clean, date and rewrap rotations.
• Charge, test, clean, and date adjustment batteries.
• Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
• Maintain warehouse reporting and claims.
• Operate a forklift with current certification.
• Tag pallets for transfer, pick, pack, ship.
• General warehousing duties (restocking shelves, housekeeping).
• Multi-task and switch between functions efficiently.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Purpose of Job:

The Warehouse Team Member I has the ability to accurately and efficiently complete assigned distribution center tasks using a variety of equipment including RF barcode scanning devices, material handling equipment - electric and manual pallet jacks, stand-up and sit-down forklifts, WMS applications, and other shipping applications.

Job Components:

• Accurately process system and manual transactions (receiving, transfer, pick, pack, ship)
• Load and unload batteries
• Restock batteries
• Charge, clean, date and rewrap rotations
• Charge, test, clean, and date adjustment batteries
• Maintain a safe and clean warehouse environment
• Accurately maintain warehouse reporting and claims
• Operate a forklift and maintain a current certification
• Properly tag pallets (for transfer, pick, pack, ship)
• General warehousing duties (such as restocking shelves and housekeeping of assigned areas)
• Ability to multi-task and/or quickly transition from one function/task to the next function/task
• Other warehouse duties as assigned by warehouse distributor management

Qualifications:

• High school graduate
• Written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills
• No experience required. Experience in warehouse operations preferred - including RF/HH equipment, forklift, electric pallet jack and stretch-wrap machine preferably in warehouse environment
• Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Sense of urgency and well organized
• Cooperative team like attitude

Scope Data:

• Interacts professionally within the warehouse distributor team
• Interacts professionally with all other departments and team members
• Accountable for individual accuracy and commitment to learning from mistakes

Work Environment:

• Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, without assistance and occassionally lifting up to 75lbs
• Consistent walking or walking during shift
• Repetitive taping of boxes
• Overtime required as deemed necessary
• Use of PPE required
• Exposed to battery warehouse conditions, such as exposure to moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals
