Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. in Port Hueneme, CA is seeking a logistics coordinator to ensure efficient movement of cargo to customers. You will work with 3PLs, Sales, and Transportation to verify delivery accuracy and maintain schedules.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate loading schedules with 3rd party logistics and Sales to ensure timely deliveries.
• Collaborate with Port Operations Managers and 3rd party logistics team to meet schedule accuracy.
• Communicate delivery schedules and provide updates regularly to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with sales, purchasing and management to resolve plan deviations and inbound/outbound needs.
• Support internal audits and Food Safety objectives as required.

Purpose of Position:

This position will perform all necessary functions to ensure the efficient movement of cargo to the customer. In this role, will also work closely with third party logistics staff, Sales and Transportation team to review and determine accuracy of delivery of products.

Accountabilities:

• Review appointment schedule to facilitate truck loading in a timely manner.
• Work closely with 3rd party logistics team, Sales and Transportation team to properly deliver schedule orders in a timely matter.
• Communicate initial delivery schedule and provide updates regularly
• Coordinate with Port Operations Managers regarding vessel discharge schedule in order to determine availability times of cargo.
• Address any problems or concerns that Del Monte Sales personnel, truck dispatchers or divers may have.
• Review turnaround time report to determine issues and use the information to rectify problem areas.
• Assist with internal audits and Food and Safety objectives as necessary to fulfill Quality Management System requirements.
• Collaborate & communicate w/ 3rd party logistics team on any inbound needs for outbound loads to ensure timely delivery to customers.
• Collaborate with sales, purchasing and management to ensure timely resolution of issues resulting from plan deviations, and any inbound needs for outbound loads to ensure timely delivery to customers.
• Special projects as assigned.

Minimum Skills Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Excellent communication skills (i.e. oral and written).

Preferred:

• BS Degree in Logistics or related field
• Deep knowledge of the Logistics/Warehousing Industry with corresponding certifications.
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Advanced analytical skills
• Food Industry Background
• Bilingual in Spanish would also be a plus
