Hood Distribution in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Warehouse Lead to supervise warehouse and driver staff, reporting to the Operations Manager. You will coordinate daily activities, oversee inbound freight, forklift operations, safety, and scheduling deliveries to ensure timely and accurate orders.

This role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Prior Warehouse Team Lead supervision experience.
• Experience loading lumber/plywood onto trucks.
• Shipping and Receiving experience required.
• Fleet Management experience preferred.
• Operational Safety experience required.
• Must be able to operate a forklift.
• Effective communication skills are essential.
• Able to use RF devices and ERP/Office tools.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Good attention to detail is a must.
• Must be able to lift 50–100 lbs.
• Able to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead all daily warehouse activities and staff.
• Monitor warehouse procedures and productivity to ensure policy compliance.
• Assist with inbound freight coordination from vendors.
• Support warehouse duties including customer or carrier pickups and receiving.
• Collaborate with Operations Manager on orders and inventory issues.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.
• Assist in scheduling deliveries and transfers with drivers.
• Conduct regular inspections (daily/weekly/monthly) of the warehouse.
• Participate in safety meetings as part of the safety committee.
