Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Full-time VAS Warehouse Team Lead in Etna, Ohio to oversee warehouse operations with state-of-the-art equipment in a safe environment. Lead a team, coordinate loading/picking/packing/shipping and forklift operation with weekly pay and a Monday–Friday 8:00 am–4:30 pm schedule.

Qualifications include forklift certification, 1+ year lead and warehouse experience, RF scanner proficiency, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ year powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• 1+ year warehouse experience preferred.
• 1+ year Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) preferred.
• 1+ year previous team lead experience preferred.
• Valid forklift operator's license certified.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement efforts for efficient operations.
• Perform warehouse functions: loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, cycle counting.
• Allocate resources and organize daily work to ensure optimal shift/team operations.
• Inspire team members to improve KPI performance using effective leadership styles.
• Provide orientation and tools to employees to perform their jobs.
• Promote health and safety practices within the warehouse.
• Handle day-to-day paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
• Submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One (1) year or more powered industrial truck experience preferred
• One (1) year or more previous experience as Team Lead preferred
• One (1) year or more Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) preferred
• One (1) year or more previous warehouse experience preferred
• Knowledge and/or experience with an RF scanner advanced required
• Valid forklift operator's license certified

Responsibilities

• Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of the operations.
• Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting.
• Allocate resources and organize and distribute daily work duties to members to ensure optimal shift/team operational logistics.
• Inspire and guide team members towards improved Key Performance Indicator (KPI’s) using the appropriate leadership styles and methods.
• Assist in proving appropriate orientation for employees and give them the necessary information, technology and tools to perform their jobs.
• Assist with promoting health and safety working methods within the warehouse.
• Deal with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
• Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operations effectiveness and service levels.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
