Warehouse Team Lead

Overview

Under general supervision, the Warehouse Team Lead supports the Site Supervisor and Warehouse Manager by providing direction and instruction to team members. The role involves guiding a group within a specific department, communicating goals, ensuring safety practices, and meeting production targets.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all employees and activities operate within safety standards.
• Assist team with warehouse processes or system issues.
• Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) for inbound/outbound shipping and inventory tracking.
• Operate powered tools including hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, cherry pickers, etc.
• Complete forklift certification if required.
• Stage products, load/unload shipments, and assist with inventory cycle counts.
• Assemble orders, prepare shipments, and record shipment data.
• Handle materials from receiving to designated locations.
• Facilitate outbound shipments with proper packing and delivery services.
• Fulfill orders via will call, delivery, or installation.
• Receive and unpack materials, report damages, and maintain shipment logs.
• Manage requisitions, work orders, and stock distribution.
• Allocate products to appropriate storage locations.
• Prepare monthly productivity and billing reports.
• Handle hazardous materials following safety procedures.
• Examine incoming shipments, record shortages, and resolve damages with shippers.
• Post weights and shipping charges, and affix postage.
• Follow safety practices and contribute to a safety culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or production.
• Minimum 1 year of forklift operation experience, if applicable.
• Experience with power tool equipment and material handling.
• Knowledge of scanning equipment and internal tracking systems.
• Successful completion of CBPS Safety Training and certification if operating a forklift.
• Basic computer skills.

Physical Demands

• Physical activity including bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs., and standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Ability to count, maintain logs, and understand safety requirements.
• Good organizational skills and proper PPE usage.
