Job summary

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of warehouse and shipping employees.
• Train employees on safety, equipment, and processes.
• Schedule assignments and overtime when needed.
• Plan the layout of warehouse and storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and other factors.
• Review records for accuracy and compliance with procedures and determine adequacy of stock levels.
• Trace the history of items to identify reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock‑control records and recommend remedial actions.
• Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
• Issue written and oral instructions.
• Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Create and maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.
• Investigate and correct errors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to three years of related industry experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to learn a mainframe program (Metalware).
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
• Ability to address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
