Job summary

Native Maine Produce & Specialty Foods (Native Maine) is seeking a Night Warehouse Supervisor to lead operations at its Westbrook, Maine facility, 3rd shift. You will be on the warehouse floor 90% of the time, overseeing receiving, stocking, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You'll mentor staff, train on safety and food safety, coordinate equipment and documentation, and continuously improve layouts and workflows to maximize efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 3+ years related experience and/or training.
• Experience in lead/supervisory duties in warehousing.
• Strong supervisory and people skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to read/interpret reports.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee receiving, stocking, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory management; document processes.
• Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed; coach and train staff.

Key Responsibilities

• This is a fast paced and hands on role while working side by side with our warehouse staff. This job requires that you’re on the warehouse floor 90% of the time and actively participating in various functions. As a Night Warehouse Supervisor with Native Maine, you will oversee receiving, stocking, picking, and packing, shipping, inventory management, and documentation. You will optimize efficient layouts, workflows, and utilization of warehouse space. Monitors the safety and security of goods and materials. And utilize a warehouse management system (WMS), enterprise resource system (ERP), or other system to track and analyze processes and performance.
• Safety – Maintains a safe work environment at all times. Coaches, mentors and trains to all applicable policies.
• Production - Overseeing receiving, stocking, picking, and packing, shipping, inventory management, and documentation. Optimizes efficient layouts, workflows, and utilization of warehouse space. Monitors the safety and security of goods and materials. Implements strong safety policies, and procedures.
• Quality – works with and oversees our QA staff to ensure that we are meeting expectations of customers and regulatory governing bodies (FDA/USDA/OSHA).
• Trains Staff -Provides proper training and orientation to new department employees. Provides annual Safety and Food Safety training to all Native Maine employees.
• Supervises Warehouse Hourly Staff – Oversees and supervises Night Warehouse employees to make sure all items are prepared and shipped on time while complying with company policy. Acts as a liaison between workers and management. Reports on warehouse activities and issues.

Other Duties

• Oversees personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, disciplining, and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
• Maintains daily production and accuracy records.
• Manages labor hours and consumable supplies within budget.
• Prepares work schedules including extra workdays and shifts as needed.
• Manages and provides leadership to team members by effectively communicating, establishing clear goals and objectives, coaching team members on achieving goals, and ensuring access to training and development opportunities that assist employees in attaining the necessary skills to achieve team and corporate results.
• Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.

Qualifications: Professional Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Experience 3+ years related experience and/or training.
• Possess strong general knowledge of all warehousing operations, with prior work experience to include lead person or supervisory duties
• Possess good supervisory skills and the ability to work with and through others to achieve desired results.
• Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to read and interpret computerized reports.
• Professional Skills Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Can add, subtracts, multiply, and divides into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Demonstrate knowledge of spreadsheet software and Word Processing software, and ability to learn Native Maine technology software and programs.
• Reports to work promptly and regularly.
• Display the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
