Job summary

Piggly Wiggly Alabama Distributing Company, Inc. in Bessemer, AL seeks an experienced warehouse supervisor to lead a team of order selectors, forklift drivers and loaders. You'll supervise operations to pull, palletize, and load orders for shipment to stores, with a shift 6pm–2:30am, five days of a six-day work week.

• Supervise unionized hourly team members to ensure individual quantity and quality standards are met.
• Using the shift work plan manage your operation to ensure that all shipments are accurate and verified and that trailers are correctly loaded, on-time.
• Create accurate shipping records.
• Identify and solve problems with the order process, truck loading, order picking technology, etc.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other shipping supervisors and managers.
• Appropriately address employee performance, conduct and attendance issues.

Job Summary As part of a team of warehouse supervisors, you’ll be responsible for supervising a team of order selectors, forklift drivers and truck loaders tasked with pulling grocery, perishable or frozen orders, palletizing product, and loading semi-tractor truck trailers on deadline for shipment to stores. You’ll typically work from 6pm to 2:30am on five days of our six-day Sunday through Friday shipping week. The warehouse environment incorporates ambient, refrigerated and frozen sections.
